Maxcoin Mining Tutorial

MaxCoin is quite simple to get mining on windows – although with a bit of help and following the tutorial below you can get it up and running and start your own MaxCoin mining operation in 15 mins. We’re going to show you how to start mining MaxCoin on your GPU and CPU with Windows, Linux and Mac. You will need to download two programs and have a decent CPU/GPU with more than 1GB of memory to get the most bang for your buck in terms of mining as MaxCoin works on a memory hard hashing technique which GPU’s are best at. MaxCoin is ASIC resistant.

If you are new to the mining concept please read the article: What is Mining?

Read our guide explaining the difference between Solo vs Pool mining.

Also, you should be familiar with Mining Difficulty.

If you experience any problems or need to report an issue, please post on the Support Forum!

Part 1 How to mine MaxCoin via CPU

Installing MaxCoin Wallet, Syncing the Blockchain & adding miderd Executables!

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is go to this link download MaxCoin Wallet and install it and sync to the blockchain. you should also add it to startup when your computer boots up.

You can mine straight from the wallet without doing anything, click the Mining tab and click start mining, if you don’t hear the CPU’s spin up, stop and start the mining.
Tip: The wallet is a program that communicates with the MaxCoin Network and acts as the relay between your computer and the rest of the MaxCoin network computers.

Note: You can mine from the wallet but if you switch off you will lose your work. Also, you may not generate a block of 16 coins for quite a few days, so leave your computer running 24/7.

If you want some quick coins to get started, It’s best to mine from a pool with the CPU via the wallet but you need to download minerd,
Further information and files are located here: https://github.com/pooler/cpuminer/downloads

Make sure minerd executable and libraries are copied into the same directory as MaxCoin-QT or you will have this error: Miner failed to start.
Usually, MaxCoin-QT will be located C:\Program Files (x86)\MaxCoin

Note: Anti-virus may identify minerd it as a trojan virus. This is a false positive, allow the execution of minerd.
